The Delhi government is taking submissions for medical oxygen plants and cryogenic tanker purchases. Early this year, Delhi was hit by a second wave of coronavirus, which had been aggravated by a lack of oxygen. The city government issued an advance announcement inviting applications again for construction of Liquid Medical Oxygen Generation Plants, Non Captive Cryogenic Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA)/Air Separation plants for hospitals and nursing homes, Liquid Medical Oxygen storage facilities for hospitals and nursing homes, and the decide to buy of cryogenic tankers.

The Medical Oxygen Production Promotion Policy of Delhi 2021, which had been notified earlier a year, will provide incentives to the businesses. The policy's goal is to make sure that so many milestones are met on time by encouraging capital invested in medical oxygen production or storage infrastructure, including the establishment of liquid oxygen production plants with a minimum capacity of 50 MT and a maximum capacity of 100 MT.

According to data released by the city health department, Delhi recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.08%.
