Corona positive cases are on rise in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi area of Karnataka. On November 16, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi reported 13 and 8 new coronavirus cases respectively.
A total of 21,81,073 samples have been tested so far, out of which 20,65,382 have turned out to be negative, as per data shared by Dakshina Kannada district. On Tuesday, around 8 patients were discharged from hospitals and death toll in the district so far stands at 1,693.
Concerned over sudden increase in coronavirus cases, the district administration once again appealed public to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house.
The authority have also warned of taking strict action with a fine if anyone is caught not wearing a mask. Till now so they has collected Rs 1,07,65,970 as fine in 88,730 incidents of mask violation.
In Udupi, as many as 12,47,415 samples have been tested so far. 8 fresh positive cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,797 out of which 45 are currently active as per data released by the district health officials.
Around 476 deaths have been reported from the district from Corona cases. Till now 9,20,467 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,48,868 have received the second dose.
