Covid Cases Again Rise in Delhi

After Srinagar, positive Covid cases are on the rise in Delhi. On Friday, the capital recorded 62 fresh cases, the highest daily count since August 8 this year. Two death cases after three weeks interval was also reported. The cases counted on Saturday was 54 with positivity marginally going down from previous day of 0.12% to 0.10%. Health experts have warned that the city could surge in positive coronavirus cases in November due to long festival seasons of deepawali and chatth puja.

For the past two months, the number of cases have remained below 60. The highest daily count of positive cases in September and October were 55 (September 4) and 45 (October 31) respectively. The daily count spiked on August 7 ( 72 cases).

Delhi Government official Covid positive data’s reveals the consistent pattern of Covid’s positivity of sharp increase followed by sharp dip in an interval of 5-6 months period. In July at least on five days, the cases reported jumped to more than 90. On July 1 (91 cases, 4 deaths), July 2 (93 cases, 2 deaths), July 4 (93 cases, 3 deaths), July 7 (93 cases, 4 deaths) and July 8 (93 cases, 3 deaths).

In the same month, positive cases hit 60 for 19 times and in August five times. At the national level, the number of positive cases was 14,40,368. More than 14.4 lakhs patients have recovered as per the government released data’s.

The growing graph of positivity cases has once again highlighted the need to remain vigilant of corona’s symptoms and continue following social distancing, wearing masks.
