'How to Make Oxygen at Home' Was What Indians looked most On the Internet in2021 Claims Google Searches Annual Trends Report
  • Akhilesh Pandey

In April and May 2021 when reports of oxygen shortage in hospitals were rife, people panicked and started searching for “How to increase the oxygen level? How to make oxygen at home?” reveals Google Searches Annual Trends Report of 2021.

However doctors and experts warned that any such attempt to make oxygen at home could endanger critical patient life. Oxygen can be produced at home for use for medical purposes. It could be only through industrial processes by an oxygen plant. However, portable Oxygen concentrators for cylinders are available for home use in case a patient can’t be shifted to hospital.

An Oxygen Plant produces liquid oxygen from air by dehumidifying and cooling the air. The plant is generally used for supplying needed oxygen in industries like steel mills, refinery industries, gasholders, etc. where compressed air is needed which is not available from other sources. The plant consists of an air compressor section with stacks and filters, a regenerative type oxygen generator, liquid oxygen liquefaction apparatus, evaporators and condensers.

An oxygen plant serves two important purposes – they supply the needed oxygen in case of fire and explosion in industries like steel mills, refineries and COD (car fumes degradation) industries, and they produce liquid oxygen for industrial use. Oxygen plants are usually installed in prominent locations because of the safety risk. Generally, Oxygen Plants are used for supplying oxygen in hospitals.

Due to the corona epidemic in hospitals across the whole country, the demand for O2 plants increased exponentially with time. As a result, many medical companies have joined in this business and have started selling their product at different price ranges.

An oxygen plants is used to produce oxygen by the reaction of water and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology. The process is based on the pressure swing principle which involves the adsorption of nitrogen at a low pressure of 3-10 Kg/cm2 (0-1.4Mbp). This low pressure increases to 15Kg/cm2 (2Mbp) during regeneration of the same. The components of the PSA system consist of an external compressor, High pressure adsorption vessels, Gas analyzers, Product flow meter and regenerator. These oxygen plants are installed in industrial areas where oxygen purity is very necessary as well as hospitals that require an adequate amount of oxygen.

The Bhartiya Cryogas Company has been manufacturing plants and equipment for the medical oxygen and industrial gas industry since 1973 in India. The company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of a complete range of oxygen plants like Oxygen Concentrators, Purification Plants (Oxygen Plants), Nitrogen Plants, Medical Oxygen Generators, Industrial Gas Generators and Medical Air Compressors.

The company offers single, dual and multiple effect design Air Separation Plants which are particularly useful to process natural gas (Methane) and other hydrocarbon gasses. Our O2 plants have a wide range of applications including petrochemical industry, sewage treatment plants, distilleries, sugar mills and pulp & paper mills. Some of its applications consist of H2S removal from natural gas in Oil & Gas industry, Ethylene production in Chemical Petrochemical industry, Washing of SCM gasses, and production of calcium carbide at power plants. India's top manufacturers and suppliers of oxygen plants, the company also offers turnkey solutions for small, medium and large size businesses. Oxygen plants are the most effective way to package oxygen in cylinders for reuse in medicine, welding, food packaging, scuba diving etc.

There are several types of plants fabricated and supplied by Bhartiya Cryogas.
