IFFCO, a cooperative chemical company, will invest ₹ 30 crore to set up four medical oxygen plants in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Odisha, with the goal of delivering it to hospitals for free.
The Oxygen plant manufacturer will be built in Gujarat's Kalol, Uttar Pradesh's Aonla and Phulpur and Odisha's Paradeep, according to the report.
"The order has been already given. Transport, installation and commissioning of an oxygen liquid plant will take at least Fifteen days. This project is now being focused on by a dedicated staff. IFFCO would make a concerted effort to commission it all as quickly as feasible for mandatory service "PTI was informed by an IFFCO spokesman.
He added that IFFCO is investing approximately Rs.30 crore in four oxygen plants.
IFFCO Chief Executive Officer and MD, Dr. US Awasthi stated that the cooperation will build an oxygen production plant in its Kalol unit in Gujarat with a capacity of 200 cubic meters per minute.
He had stated, "IFFCO will also provide free oxygen to the hospital, each cylinder containing 46.7 l."
The planned oxygen factory in Kalol will manufacture medical-grade oxygen and fill 700 large D-type cylinders daily, as well as 300 medium B-size cylinders on demand, which will then be distributed completely for free to all hospitals, he said.
Awasthi further stated that IFFCO will have an oxygen cylinder filling plant for hospitals at no cost, but that they should always bring their own cylinders for refilling. If cylinders are taken from IFFCO, a non refundable deposit will be meant to prevent oxygen hoarding.
