The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has placed orders for 25 Medical Oxygen Plants with ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited. Manufacturing, supplying, installing and commissioning are even included in the scope of work.
The company claimed in a regulatory filing, "Each of these plants seems to have a capacity of 250 LPM (l per minute) and an availability of oxygen of 93 +/-3%. DRDO devised the design for any of these based on the Pressure Swing Adsorption(PSA) Oxygen Plants concept."

The project hopes to increase India's medical oxygen infrastructure such that the country may better combat the existing COVID-19 pandemic, according to the statement.
On the Sensex, ISGEC Heavy Engineering ended at Rs795.05 per piece, up Rs65.6 or 8.99%.
