New Zealand adds Covexin, Covishield to list of 8 recognised Covid-19 vaccines
  • PRAKSHI RAWAT

Travelers who already have received the Covishield or Covexin immunization can now travel New Zealand without having waited for a quarantine period.

The COVID-19 pandemic has slowly reduced in places of the globe, which is excellent news for Indians wishing to travel overseas. New Zealand just accepted the COVID-19 vaccinations, which were curated in India's approved vaccine list. Indian travellers who have received the Covishield and Covaxin vaccines, two of the most widely used COVID-19 vaccines in India, can now enter New Zealand without trouble. Muktesh Pardeshi, India's high commissioner to New Zealand, made an announcement for the same. Government is appriciating manufacturer of oxygen plants and oxygen plant suppliers a lot because without them betterment in pandamic wouldn’t be possible.

"In a good decision, NZ includes #covishield and #covexin in the list of 8 recognised vaccinations," Pardeshi wrote on Twitter. The removal of travel restrictions is just something we eagerly anticipate. Vaccinated visitors are already accepted in India".

This resolution by the New Zealand government permits all persons who have been injected with the both doses of Covishield or Covaxin on the inside of the island to travel abroad without incurring any quarantine.Prior to this, Australia decided on October 1 and November 1 of next year to recognise both Indian-made vaccinations. According to Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, India currently has universal vaccination certificates of over 95 countries. Government on other hand is also working on oxygen cylinder filling plants.

The Indian government has chosen to let fully vaccinated foreign travellers inside the country at some point since the COVID-19 outbreak first hit the country in March 2020, thereby encouraging overseas travel across the country's territory.

On November 15 of this year, India enacted stating that travellers from countries at which India has a mutual vaccine certificate would not be required to undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival. As per the health ministry, those from other nations would still be made to undertake the examination.
