Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has been focusing on expanding its output ever since beginning due to competition for liquid medical oxygen (LMO) during the Covid-19 second wave. Since last year, the government sector steelmaker has supplied hospitals with 36,747 tons of LMO, according to a statement. In terms of the process and equipment, improvements have been already made to complement the Liquid oxygen plant supply.
SAIL has reduced gaseous oxygen, nitrogen and argon output while improving processing parameters in its plants to boost liquid medicinal oxygen production plant. The Company has supplied an average of 660 tons of LMO a day from its plants over the last six days. According to the statement, all of the company's plants have already been urged to increase LMO production and improve dispatch logistics in order to significantly reduce oxygen tanker response time.
SAIL plans to load a rake from its Bokaro Steel Plant with the assistance of Indian Railways and the Ministry of Steel.
This will significantly aid in the bulk departure of LMO and its faster arriving to its destination, according to the statement.
