Oxygen Production Plant installed at Govt Medical College, Jammu

The 500-litre per minute oxygen production plant at Government Medical College, Jammu was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Health and Medical Education, Vivek Bhardwaj on Wednesday.

This plant has been donated by ASSOCHAM to the college and is installed from Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel’s Rs one crore medical education infrastructure fund.

The oxygen will benefit from the 125 bed new Emergency Block inaugurated by Anupriya Patel in December last year.

Oxygen Production Plants (OPPs) and oxygen supported beds deliver much higher levels of oxygen to patients while they’re sleeping. The beds, which differ in size and support level, are designed to deliver high concentrations of oxygen over an extended period – eliminating the need for an overnight hospital stay.
